The purpose of the ERC Health Cleveland Corporate Challenge is to create a healthy and recreational event that builds company pride, morale and camaraderie among employees and companies. Businesses compete within a division of companies of similar size. Divisions may vary from year to year based on the number and size of companies entering the Corporate Challenge.
Each company selects a Company Coordinator as the liaison between the
company and the Corporate Challenge Office.
- Attends Corporate Challenge Coordinators meetings
- Selects event team captains
- Prepares the team to play
- Secures practice times
- Coordinates practices with individual work schedules
- Assures that the team is on time for each game
- Checks in at the check-in table the day of the event
- Handles the company registration and participant waiver forms
- Minimum age is 18
- You must be an employee or a spouse/significant other of an employee
to compete
- Employee is defined as full time, part time, temp, or intern
- Please Note: If your company and your spouse/significant others company is participating in the Corporate Challenge, you must play ONLY for your company.
All companies will compete in divisions based on number of employees.
- Corporate Cup- Full Fledged Competition in all 14 events
- Independent- Participation in select events
- By May 1st - $1,300
- By June 1st - $1,450
- By June 9th - $1,600

By paying the above fee, the company can enter a team in each of the
Corporate Challenge Events listed below, accumulating points toward the
Corporate Cup. (If there is an event you cannot field a team in, it will
not adversely affect you other than the loss of a participation point
for the event.)
Competition runs throughout the months of June, July and August. Weeknight
competition begins as early as 6:00pm and Weekend competition starts as
early as 8:00am.
Individual event participation is also available by paying the appropriate
fee for that sport, but you will not earn points towards the Cup. The
individual fees printed to the right of each event only apply to the independent
division.

*Companies can enter multiple teams in the Corporate Cup Division
as well as enter additional teams in particular events that have a strong
demand.
The official chairty of the 2008 ERC Health Cleveland Corporate Challenge is the Jennifer Ferchill Foundation. Each company entering the Corporate Cup Division will be able to pick
the charity of their choice to compete for. The top 3 places in each division
will have a donation made in their name to the charity they choose. The

- Points will be awarded to those teams entering the Corporate Cup and not for individual event entrance. Individual entries are eligible for awards issued for the individual events only.
Scoring System
Bowling, Miniature Golf, the Obstacle Course & 10K Relay (Non-Elimination Events)
1st place - 10 points
2nd place - 8 points
3rd place - 6 points
4th place - 4 points
5th place - 3 points
6th place - 2 points
1 for participation
Soccer, Billiards & Dodgeball (Single Elimination Events)
1st place - 10 points
2nd place - 8 points
3rd place - 6 points
4th place - 4 points (There is an elimination game to determine 3rd and 4th place)
If you play 2 games, win one and lose one - 2 points
If you play one game and lose - 1 point
A forfeit is counted as a win
Softball, Kickball, Cornhole, 3 on 3 Basketball, Sand VB & Tug of War (Double Elimination Events)
1st place - 10 ioints
2nd place - 8 points
3rd place - 6 points
4th place - 4 points
If you win only 2 games and don't place - 3 points
If you win only 1 game - 2 points
If you don't win a game - 1 point
A forfeit is counted as a win
- Any company can enter an individual team in the Independent Division. Corporate Cup teams may add additional company teams in the independent division. Your team will be placed in a division of Independent teams only.
Softball, Basketball, Soccer, Kickball, Dodgeball, Sand Volleyball, Cornhole, the Obstacle Course & 10K Relay.
All teams, no matter the company size, that are in the Independent Division (not Corporate Cup), will compete in the same division.
These sports will be contested on the same dates of competition as listed in the entry material. Teams will be grouped together into one division. If there are less than three (3) teams that are scheduled to play, each tournament will be cancelled and a refund issued.
Billiards
All Independent teams will compete on Thursday, June 26. If there is less than three (3) teams that are scheduled to play, billiards will be cancelled for the independent division and a refund issued.
Mini Golf & Bowling
Independent teams will play in an independent division based on company size.
Tug of War
There is NO independent division for this event.
- The top 3 teams in each event receive an award for their achievements.
- The top 3 companies in each division competing for the Corporate Cup
will have a donation made on their behalf to the charity of their choice.
- The winner of each division will have their name engraved on the Corporate
Cup.
