The Jennifer Ferchill Foundation came into existence after the death of Jennifer Ferchill in April of 1982. She was diagnosed with a very rare brain cancer and passed away at the age of 9. Since the foundation has been established, it has been able to provide support to children who are suffering from illness. The foundation was also able to build a roof top play ground at the Children's Hospital wing at the Cleveland Clinic.
In addition to the dedication to the physical, social and mental health of children, it is the mission of the foundation to provide assistance to families with children suffering from illness, to develop programs and facilities to benefit children, and to support the education of children through scholarship funds. Currently, the foundation is exploring the possibility of bringing in-house teaching programs to various schools (ie. bringing artifacts from the art museum to local schools for the purpose of continuing education).
