Rules
Teams:
-A team will consist of 8 Players, 4 men, 4 women
-Rosters are not limited
-Substitutions can only be used in case of injury, and must be a man for a man, woman for a woman.
-A minimum of 3 men and 3 women are required to avoid a forfeit.
Game:
-Games will end when all opposing players have been eliminated OR after the 10 minute time limit, one team has more participants remaining.
- If the game is tied, a 2 minute sudden death will be enforced, with the first team to eliminate one opposing player to be declared the game winner.
-The match will consist of 7 games, with the team that wins 4 games being declared the overall winner.
- Games will be conducted on an honor system but Officials will be on hand to settle any conflicts.
Start:
-The teams will begin each game behind the court baseline.
-The balls will start on the half court line.
-When the Whistle is blown, the two teams will run to the half court line to retrieve the balls. No balls may be thrown until the participants retreat back behind the attack line.
Rules:
-Players are declared OUT when
Hit by a ball on the fly below the shoulders.
A player from the opposing team catches your thrown ball before it hits the ground.
Hitting an opposing player above the shoulders, IF an effort is made to duck and the player is hit in the head, they are out.
Stepping across the center line. (Players may step ON the center line)
If you have a ball in your hands you may block an oncoming ball with it as long as the thrown ball does not touch you. If the ball is blocked, a teammate may catch the blocked ball on the fly, and the thrower will be declared out.
-When declared OUT, player will line up in order of being OUT along the side of the field.
- When live balls are caught, the next player, in the order they are OUT, from the catcher’s team will be permitted back into the game.
- A stalling penalty will be enforced if a team holds all the balls for more than 10 seconds. The penalty will result in the team forfeiting one player OUT and loss of a ball.
Equipment:
-The official balls will be provided by Hermes Sports & Events.
-The number of balls used will be eight (8)
-Participants must wear shoes.
