FIELD OF PLAY
Boundaries: 290ft. x 170ft.
Goals: 7ft. x 21ft.
Penalty area: 34 yards x 15 yards
DURATION OF THE MATCH
Each game will consist of 2 – 20 minute halves with a 5 minute half time. There will be a running clock maintained by the referee. The clock will stop for injury timeouts. Delay tactics will allow the referee to stop the clock at his/her discretion.
Teams will alternate kickoffs and exchange ends between each half.
A coin toss will be called by the home team. The winner may choose to kick off first or choose a half to defend.
SUBSTITUTIONS
Unlimited substitutions can occur during the following times:
- The team with possession of the ball may substitute prior to your corner kick, goal kick, or throw-in
- If the team with possession of the ball is substituting players, the other team may substitute players as well
- After a goal
- When play is stopped for an injury
Substitutions must enter from midfield and must notify the officials before entering.
PLAY OF GAME
Kick Offs
A kick off will start each half and restart the game after a goal is scored. A kickoff begins from the center of the field of play, on the referees whistle. The ball will be played into the opponents half and must travel forward one full circumference of the ball. The player starting the ball may only touch the ball once until it is played by another player.
Every player must be on his/her half of the field at the time of the kick off. Players opposing the ball shall be at least 10 yards from the ball until it is kicked. A goal may not be scored directly from the kick off.
Throw-ins
When the ball is kicked out of bounds on the sidelines, a throw-in will be awarded to the opposing team. The player throwing the ball in uses both hands with equal force. The ball must be delivered from behind and over the head in one continuous motion, with both feet on the ground on or behind the touchline. The player must be facing the field and both feet must remain on the ground. A goalkeeper may not handle a throw-in from his/her own team
Goal kicks
A goal kick will be awarded to the defending team when the entire ball crosses the goal line having last been touched by a player of the attacking team. All players, except the goalkeeper and the player taking the kick, shall remain outside the penalty area until the ball has cleared the penalty area. If the kick does not clear the penalty box, the kick shall be repeated. The ball may be played by anyone except the player who kicked it and the goalkeeper. Goal kicks can be taken by a male or a female.
Corner kicks
A corner kick will be awarded to the attacking team when the entire ball crosses the goal line after being kicked by a member of the defending team. Players of the defending team must remain at least 10 yards from the ball until it is kicked. The kick will be taken from the corner of the field and after being kicked, may be played by anyone except the person who initially kicked it. Corner kicks can be taken by a male or a female.
OFFSIDES
The off sides line is designated as the center field line. The off sides line extends from touchline to touchline and is parallel to the goal. If a player is behind all defenders in the opposing teams half of the playing area, they will be considered offsides.
OVERTIME
If a game ends in a tie, one-ten minute sudden death overtime will be played (first team to score will be the winner). If neither team scores, teams will go into a shootout. The visiting team will call the coin toss to determine which team kicks off.
SHOOTOUT
Each team will select five players (3 males/ 2 females). Players do not have to have been playing at the end of regulation. Shots will be placed and not dribbled.
Teams will alternate taking direct penalty shots from 12 yards off the goal line. A coin toss called by the home team will determine kicking order.
If the game is still tied after the first round, the second round will be sudden death (i.e. if the first player from Team A scores and the first player from Team B misses, then Team A wins). Players who shot in the first round are not eligible to shoot again until all remaining players present have shot. If one team begins to utilize players for the second time, the other team may recycle players as well. Therefore, some players on the team with more people present may or may not shoot.
FREE KICKS
A free kicks will be either direct or indirect and will be determined by the referee. A free kick may be taken from wither a male or a female. If the foul is deliberate and committed by a player on the defending team, they will be penalized with a penalty kick.
Players from the opposing team must remain 10 yards from the ball during a free kick.
PENALTY KICKS
A penalty kick will be taken from the penalty spot by a female, 12 yards away from the goal. All players except the kicker and opposing goalkeeper must remain outside the penalty box. The goalkeeper must stand on his/her goal line until the ball is kicked. The player kicking the ball must kick the ball forward and it must touch the goalkeeper, crossbar or goalpost before the penalty kicker or another player may touch the ball.
The player who is taking a penalty kick may not interrupt his/her movement after beginning the approach to the ball. This will result in a re-kick.
FOULS AND MISCONDUCT
A goalkeeper may not play the ball over the halfway line by use of a punt or drop kick (half volley) from their hands. They may throw the ball the length of the field. The opposing team will receive a indirect free kick at the center line where the ball crossed.
During the run of play, all players (including the goalkeeper) may kick the ball across the halfway line on the fly, including free kicks.
When a player deliberately passes the ball to his/her own goalkeeper, the goalkeeper is not permitted to touch the ball with his/her hands.
The goalkeeper is limited to a maximum of four steps with the ball. Goalkeepers have 6 seconds to release the ball after making a save.
Slide tackling is not permitted.
A player shall be penalized if he/she intentionally spits, kicks, strikes, pushes, trips, attempts to kick, strike, or jump at an opponent or official. The opposing team will be awarded a free kick.
Players will receive a warning (yellow card) for the following reasons:
- Unsportsmanlike behavior – including hard fouls, holding an opponent or deliberately handling the ball for the purpose of preventing an opponent from gaining possession of the ball, blatant cases of holding and pulling an opposing player or his uniform; and any verbal or physical action deemed to be unsportsmanlike.
- Dissent by word or actions
- Persistently breaking the rules
- Delaying the restart of play
- Defenders failing to stay the proper distance away from the kicker on a corner kick or free kick
Players will be ejected (red card) for the following reasons:
- Serious foul play (includes any use of excessive force or brutality against an opponent when challenging for the ball
- violent conduct
- using offensive or threatening language
If a red card is issued - that player will be eliminated from the tournament!
Receiving a second yellow card in one game will result in ejection. Substitutions are not permitted for ejected players (the team will play short) and ejected players may not re-enter the game
