The Mission of the Road Race Series
Hermes Sports & Events will be hosting the 7th annual Road Race Series to help promote road racing in Northeastern Ohio. The Road Race Series is designed to create a motivating factor for the participants and allows for a season long competition between runners.
Who can participate?
Everyone! The Hermes Sports & Events Road Race Series is open to runners of all ages and ability. This is a fun way to track your performance and progress throughout the year and compete against others in the Series
High school and college athletes are encouraged to participate but it is their responsibility to clarify all eligibility requirements with his or her organization. Hermes Sports & Events assumes no responsibility for eligibility infractions or problems that may arise from an athlete's participation in the Road Race Series.
What does it cost?
A registration fee of $35 ($25 for current chip owners) will be required to participate in the 2008 Road Race Series.
Participation begins AFTER you register. If you ran a race before registering it will not be counted in the points calculation.
Participants can register until September 6. No entries will be accepted after the start of the River Run 5K.
Your age as of January 1, 2008 will be used in determining your age group for the entire season.
Participants are still required to pay the registration fee for each race they choose to participate.
What does my registration fee provide me with?
Everyone will receive a 2008 Road Race Series drawstring cinchsack. After signing up, your item will be available at the next Road Race Series event.
Following each Road Race Series event, results will be posted online with your individual score and time.
Special discounts and offers throughout the year
Runners completing the required seven (7) races will be eligible for end-of-season awards
Free admission to the Awards Banquet at the end of the year. The Banquet will be held on Sunday, December 14 at Fahrenheit in Tremont. Details will be available later in the year. Guests may purchase tickets for a small fee.

Official Rules
Participation begins after you register. If you ran a Series race before registering, it will not count in your standings. Points are not retroactive.
To be eligible for awards, participants must complete a minimum of seven (7) races. If a runner completes more than seven, only the top seven scores will be counted.
The Series will be scored for both a male and female open division and age groups. Your age group is determined by your age as of January 1, 2008.

Male and female results are calculated separately
The top male and female Series finishers will receive the maximum race points.
All other runners will receive a percentage of points based on the difference (in time) between their time and the top finisher's time.

End-of-Season Awards
Runners completing the minimum seven (7) races will be eligible for awards at the end of the season. If a runner completes more than the required number, only the top seven scored will be counted.
Awards will be presented to the top five overall male and female finishers and the top three male and female age group finishers
The Awards Ceremony will be held on Sunday, December 14 at Fahrenheit. More details will be available later in the year.
