The Mission of the Road Race Series
Hermes Sports & Events will be hosting the 8th annual Road Race Series to help promote road racing in Northeastern Ohio. The Road Race Series is designed to create a motivating factor for the participants and allows for a season-long competition for both seasoned and new runners alike.
Who can participate?
Everyone! The Hermes Sports & Events Road Race Series is open to runners of all ages and abilities. This is a fun way to track your individual performance and progress throughout the year and compete against others in the Series. High school and college athletes are encouraged to participate but it is your responsibility to clarify all eligibility requirements with your organization. Hermes Sports & Events assumes no responsibility for eligibility infractions or problems that may arise from an athlete's participation in the Road Race Series.
What does it cost?
A registration fee of $35 will be required to participate in the 2010 Road Race Series.
Participation begins AFTER you register. If you ran a race before registering, it will not be counted in the series results..
Participants can register until July 10, 2010. No entries will be accepted after the start of the Winking Lizard "A Shot in the Dark" 4-Mile, since you must run seven races to be eligible for awards.
Your age as of January 1, 2010 will be used in determining your age group for the entire season.
You are still required to pay the registration fee for each race you choose to participate in.
What does my registration fee provide me with?
Every participant will receive a commemorative 2010 Road Race Series technical hooded sweatshirtt. After signing up, your sweatshirt will be available at the next Road Race Series event.
Following each Road Race Series event, results will be posted online with your individual score and time.
Runners completing the required seven (7) races will be eligible for end-of-season awards.

Entry to the Awards Banquet at the end of the year. The banquet will be held in December 2010. Details will be available closer to the event. Guests may purchase tickets for an additional fee.

Official Rules
Participation begins after you register. If you ran a series race before registering, it will not count in your standings. Points are not retroactive.
To be eligible for awards, participants must complete a minimum of seven races. If a runner completes more than seven, only the top seven scores will be counted in the final scoring.
Your age group is determined by your age as of January 1, 2010.
Age groups are as follows: 10 & Under / 11-15 / 16-19 / 20-24 / 25-29 / 30-34 / 35-39 / 40-44 / 45-49 / 50-54 / 55-59 / 60-64 / 65+
Points
Male and female results are calculated separately.
Points will be awarded following each event. You will get points for each race you participate in as well as points based on your finishing place.
End-of-Season Awards
Runners completing the minimum seven races will be eligible for awards at the end of the season. If a runner completes more than the required number, only the top seven scored will be counted.
Awards will be presented to the top five overall male and female finishers and the top three male and female age group finishers
The Awards Banquet will be held in December 2010. More details will be available later in the year.
