44th Annual Cleveland Turkey Trot Returns Thanksgiving Morning with Support from Cleveland State University Recreation and Wellbeing and Viking Public House

Over 10,000 runners and spectators are expected to line the streets of downtown Cleveland at Public Hall Thanksgiving morning for the 44th Cleveland Turkey Trot. A cherished Cleveland holiday tradition, this year’s race is proudly sponsored by Cleveland State University Recreation and Wellbeing and the Viking Public House.

The Cleveland Turkey Trot is one of Northeast Ohio’s longest-running and most beloved races, drawing thousands of participants who come together to kick off the holiday with fitness, fun, and family.

“We’re excited to celebrate 44 years of this Thanksgiving family tradition in Cleveland,” said Neal Neroni, President of Hermes Sports & Events. “Partnering with Cleveland State University and Viking Public House makes the event even more special, as they share our passion for health, community, and creating meaningful experiences that bring people together.”

Cleveland State University Recreation and Wellbeing offers inclusive fitness and wellness programs for both the campus and greater Cleveland community. Their dedication to promoting healthy lifestyles perfectly aligns with the spirit of the Turkey Trot. “Being part of an event that celebrates movement, gratitude, and togetherness is a perfect fit for CSU Recreation and Wellbeing,” said Michelle Rieger, Ph.D., Director of Programming & Operations. “We’re proud to support an event that encourages thousands to start their Thanksgiving in such a positive way.”

The Viking Public House, located on CSU’s campus, is a vibrant dining spot that celebrates the university’s culture and community spirit. Although the restaurant will be closed on Thanksgiving Day, they remain enthusiastic supporters of the Turkey Trot and its mission.
Amanda Casey, Executive Director of Dining Services at Viking Food Co., Collegiate Hospitality, said: “At Viking Public House, we believe in creating spaces where people gather, celebrate, and share experiences. The Cleveland Turkey Trot reflects those same values, and we’re proud to sponsor this long-standing tradition in the heart of our community.”
